Annotation:
The article is devoted to the features of the Russian language functioning within the territory of Irkutsk Oblast. We have emphasized that one of the main reasons for the uniqueness of the Russian language is multinationality. With the simultaneous presence of several languages in one territory, the problem of variations of the Russian language acquires special significance. The article deals with regional units borrowed by the Russian language from Buryat, which is one of the main donors. It is facilitated by the fact that Ust-Orda Buryat Okrug, which is located in Irkutsk Oblast, was once a part of the Republic of Buryatia. As an example, we have cited regionalisms identified during the analysis of Internet comments on news publications (as illustrated by the Irkutsk media). It is noted that Internet comments are actively used by residents of Irkutsk Oblast and are familiar to them.
