Annotation:
The article identifies the actual situation in teaching hieroglyphic writing in Russian educational institutions of different levels. We have analyzed the Chinese textbooks for beginners, based on the requirements for organization of teaching hieroglyphic writing. Criterial analysis made it possible to identify the existing problems associated with the inconsistency of the textbooks’ content to the requirements for teaching hieroglyphic writing. It is concluded that the system of teaching hieroglyphic writing should be based on the following requirements: appropriateness to the purposes and tasks of teaching hieroglyphic writing; principle of spoken advancement; gradual formation of hieroglyphic writing skills; explanation of the etymology of hieroglyphics; interconnected teaching of reading and writing hieroglyphic signs; interrelated teaching hieroglyphics as an aspect and as written speech; unification of hieroglyphs by graphic or phonetic associations; adequacy of exercises to the skills that should be developed; interconnected teaching hieroglyphic writing and other types of speech activity; division of vocabulary (hieroglyphics) into receptive and productive; appropriateness to psychological features and teachability of pupils; availability of tasks aimed at independent work of students; methodological recommendations for teaching hieroglyphic writing taking into account age peculiarities of learners.
