PROBLEM OF JUSTICE IN A. MACINTIRE'S DEONTOLOGICAL THEORY

The article analyzes the interpretation of justice by an American philosopher, a representative of communitarianism Alasdair MacIntyre and his criticism of liberal theo- ries represented by D. Rawls, R. Nozick, R. Dworkin. MacIntyer in his works “After Vir- tue”, “Whose Justice?” analyzed in a critical manner the liberal ideas proposed by the above mentioned philosophers. The researcher criticizes liberals for abstract individualistic theories that do not take into account the idea of community. He comes to the conclusion that modern society undergoes a severe moral crisis, and offers an alternative to liberal concepts. MacIntyre revives and updates the concept of Aristotle. Having analyzed in detail the idea of the Greek philosopher, MаcIntyre tries to substantiate the possibility of applying the Aristotle’s concept to modern society. It is concluded that at the end of the 20th century there was a synthesis of the aforementioned opposing schools, which made it possible to include the problem of justice in the broader context of the ethical tradition, ideas about the good and virtue, as well as the rights and freedoms of the individual.
