Annotation:
With the transition to federal state educational standards of higher education there is a need for formation professional competencies of students. Competence oriented task is one of the tools for professional competence diagnostics. The article deals with the basic concepts, various ap- proaches to their definition and structure of сompetence oriented tasks. The structure of a task comprises incentive, formulation, source, and verification tool. We give a detailed description of the algorithm for creation of such tasks. To successful formation of professional competencies as a result of learning engineering graphics with the basics of design task formulation should in- clude some kind of a problem situation or a problem. The competence oriented task for future teachers of vocational training in the field of decorative arts and design is given as an example.
