LEONID ANDREYEV'S STORIES IN ANIMATION LANGUAGE AS A UNIQUE INTERMEDIAL EXPERIENCE

Among the screen versions of L. Andreev‘s works the special place takes two short films (―How To Become a Human?‖ and ―A Little Angel‖), which are the original attempts to bring his novels in animation. Through certain visual freedom in comparison with live action and documentary films animated art allows producers to embody convincingly author's metaphors and to transfer stylistics of their works. Meanwhile, the original text follows the idiorgaphic logic of animation and producer‘s desire for modernization. The system of P. Wells, a researcher of literature in animation, allow understanding the connotations which this type of cinema adaptation adds.
