Annotation:
This article is devoted to the historical moment in the Buryat sport - pedestrian-ski transi- tion 1936-1937. This article focuses on some aspects of the transition. The preparatory stage, the transition itself and its influence on the further development of sports are ex- amined and analyzed separately. The importance of this transition in the development of sports in Buryatia is noted. On the basis of the conducted research, the further develop- ment of the sport is revealed; different points of view regarding this event are considered. The article tells about the important function of the heroic actions of girls, namely the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and the promotion of sports, which gave us new sports achievements.
