In Russia, as in the whole world, there is an increase in the frequency of cesarean section. Like any medical operation, a caesarean section performed without strict indications may be a more dangerous method of delivery for both the mother and the fetus.

Today the analysis of indications and efficiency of the performed operations of cesarean sec- tion is of high actuality. The use of one average point to estimate the frequency of caesarean section is considered to be not enough objective due to different indications for surgery and heterogeneous distribution of patients between obstetric institutions of different levels. In order to obtain a more objective picture of the effectiveness of the established practices and to identify a reserve for improving the quality of obstetric care in 2015, who recommended that caesarean section frequency be analyzed using the method proposed by Robson [1, 2]. This method consists of dividing all cases of labor into 10 groups and counting the frequen- cy of cesarean section in each group separately [3]. The ratio of groups in different institutions may vary, but the frequency of cesarean section within the groups is comparable.
