Annotation:
The article is devoted to the problem of academic dishonesty of students. The article substantiates the idea that academic dishonesty on the part of students is a symptom of pseudo — adaptive behavior, when pedagogical requirements are in conflict with personal intentions, goals, opportunities or cause internal rejection on the part of stu- dents. As a result of the analysis of the survey data of students of Buryat state Uni- versity (n=230 people), the most common reasons that encourage students to aca- demic dishonesty (plagiarism, cheating) are identified: problems with understanding of educational material; lack of interest in educational material, course; a large amount of educational material/tasks and lack of time for preparation. It is indicated that solving the problem of academic dishonesty requires complex measures. Exter- nal control and punishment are not always effective measures to prevent academic dishonesty. It is proposed to focus on improving the pedagogical management of ed- ucational activities of students and education of responsible, conscientious attitude of students to educational and professional activities.
