Annotation:
The article examines the pedagogical activity of the famous Russian Mongolist, a major collector and a researcher of Mongolian peoples’ folklore, professor N.O. Sharakshinova (1915-2000). She went down in the history of Soviet folklore stud- ies as one of the founders and great representatives of the Buryat school of epic studies. Her research works include many genres of Buryat folklore such as myths, fairy tales, stories, proverbs and songs. Since 1951, for more than 40 years, her career has been as- sociated with the Irkutsk State University, where she founded the Department of Buryat Philology. Nadezhda Osipovna made a significant contribution to the training of special- ists in Mongolian studies, many of her students have become famous public figures and scientists in Russia and Mongolia. The article is dedicated to her 105th anniversary.
