Annotation:
This article deals with the problems of intercultural competence of students in the process of learning foreign languages and international cooperation. The aim of the article is to consid- er the potential and forms of educational and extracurricular activities in the development of intercultural competence. The concepts of communication, competence, intercultural com- municative competence are considered, the approximate range of directions of formation of ability to intercultural communicative competence in the conditions of teaching a foreign language in higher educational institutions is defined. The results of a survey aimed at iden- tifying the degree of development and development of intercultural competence of students using the Deborah Schnabel test in three countries — Russia, Mongolia and China. The pedagogical conditions necessary for the successful development of intercultural compe- tence of students are defined.
