COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF INHERITANCE IN THE DIGEST OF LAWS OF THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE AND THE RUSSIAN CIVIL CODE

The article presents a comparative analysis of the institution of inheritance in The Digest of Laws of the Russian Empire and The Russian Civil Code. We have studied the legal aspects and the procedure of inheritance in prerevolutio- nary Russia, analyzed the list of heirs entitled to receive property under The Digest of Laws of the Russian Empire. Also a comparative analysis of the insti- tution of inheritance in prerevolutionary legislation and modern Russian civil law is presented. Within the framework of this article, we also have revealed a number of problems connected with the legal regulation of inheritance by tes- tament in modern Russian civil law.
