Annotation:
The article examines some issues of legal regulation of basic consumer rights. In particular, the analysis of such consumer rights as the right to the quality of the goods, the right to use the goods within its service life, as well as the right to provide relevant information about the purchased goods. To fully disclose these rights, a sys- tematic analysis of the norms of domestic legislation on consumer protection in this area, as well as the provisions of the Sony Interactive Entertainment license agreement, the Terms of Use of programs, and the Terms of Service of the PlayStation Network is carried out. To achieve a legal understanding of certain legislative provisions, the materials of judicial practice that have appeared in cases of consumer protection in this area are examined. In addition, to substantiate certain phenomena and patterns, a brief compara- tive legal analysis is conducted with the countries of the European Economic Area and the People's Republic of China regarding the development of legislation on consumer protection in the video game industry in foreign countries. Based on the results of the study, the emergence of prerequisites is justified, expressed in the need to develop leg- islation on consumer protection in this area, as well as in the continuation of scientific research in the future.
