Annotation:
The article analyzes the origin, development and interpretation of the concept of ideology. Particular attention is paid to how this concept appeared in the history of social thought, developed and refined. We have considered the structure of ideology, its various in- terpretations, and revealed based on it the recent trends of modern ideological concepts. Special attention is paid to the renaissance of interest in issues of ideology and its imple- mentation in social and political life of Russia. We have separately analyzed the limitations and obstacles to the development of ideology.
