Annotation:
This paper contains a study of the integral and differential properties of varieties of descrip- tive text: a visual description and a description-characteristic. In certain cases, when the signs of the visual description and description-characteristic are contaminated, a transition unit arises — a contaminated description that combines the properties of the visual descrip- tion and description-characteristic. The subject of the analysis is the principles of differen- tiation of descriptive texts, among which can be called 1) the function of the deputy speaker, 2) signs of observability / non-observability of signs, 3) principle of temporality / constancy of the properties of the described subject, 4) lexical-semantic (LSG) groups of substantives, verbs etc. The empirical base of the work is the descriptive texts of different stylistic be- longing, extracted from the texts of fiction (classical and modern works), official business documents, scientific papers, journalism and colloquial speech.
