Annotation:
In this article discusses the actual problem of the dispute between Russia and Japan about Kuril Islands, studied the history of the conflict, analyzed the significance of the islands and suggested possible solutions to this conflict, suggested position on the most optimal resolution of the issue from the international point of view, as well as taking into account national interests.
