AN ANTHOLOGY OF CONNECTIVE TISSUE DYSPLASIA SYNDROME

The article deals with the history of studying the syndrome of connective tissue dyspla- sia. We touch upon the issues of terminology and relevance of the investigated problem in works of different authors, as well as gradual accumulation of scientific knowledge in this field. The concept of "dysplasia" unites all varieties of congenital malformations of both organs and individual tissues. The absence of standardized terminology, classifica- tions, difficulties in diagnosis and the principles of treatment strengthen scientists' inter- est in this problem and contribute to new research and discoveries. Currently, the syn- drome of connective tissue dysplasia is a pathology, which declare itself in defects of the synthesis or catabolism of extracellular matrix components or regulators of connec- tive tissue morphogenesis.
