Annotation:
Obesity is a risk factor for many non-communicable diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, disorders of the musculoskeletal system, some kinds of cancer. There is a higher rate of obesity in the Republic of Buryatia compared with the indicators in the Russian Federation: obe- sity in the entire population exceeds the corresponding figures in the Russian Federation by 15
%; moreover, in Buryatia there is a significant increase in obese patients.
In order to effectively reduce body weight, the training has been conducted in the form of the educational program "School of health on rational food". The program included classes with a psychologist with the aim of forming a sustainable motivation for weight loss; lessons that in- cluded the principles of rational nutrition; dosed physical exercises, as well as, individual con- sultations with calculation of the basic metabolism, caloric content of the daily ration.
