OVERVIEW OF TOPICAL PROBLEMS IN MODERN HIGHER EDUCATION

The article reveals the main theses of teachers’ reports on topical problems of modern higher education. The research is based on materials of seminar “Topical Problems of Modern Higher Education”, carried out among teachers of Department of Russian and Foreign Languages, Department of State and Municipal Management and Civil Ser- vice Law, as well as members of dean's office of Far East Institute of Management — Branch of Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the Russian Federation President. The features of modern student’s identity and the quality of higher education today are analyzed and its main problems are revealed, such as lagging of education behind science, psychological and pedagogical problems of education development, the problem of formation "a successful person", shortage of highly qualified teaching staff, the problem of formation students’ readiness to posi- tive intercultural communication in the multicultural educational space. Based on se- minar materials we have given forecast and offered the solutions for these problems.
