The article is devoted to the analysis of the process of interethnic communication of foreign students at the Buryat State University in the process of studying the Russian language. The author analyzes the experience of teaching Russian as a foreign language to students from different countries of the world in the Republic of Buryatia, taking into ac- count the specifics of the cultural and educational environment of the region. The process of adaptation of foreign citizens to a foreign language environment, the improvement of linguistic skills depends on many factors. Taking into account all the features of the communication process and synchronizing their impact on students make it possible to achieve the learning outcomes and socialization of foreign citizens in modern Russian society.
