The article raises the issue of the applicability of sensory development of chil- dren with intellectual disabilities. It is noted that many problems of sensory development can be overcome only in the course of purposeful remedial work. We have presented the results of a study conducted at Special Remedial Comprehensive Boarding School No. 2 in Ulan-Ude. The sample included 28 students aged 11 to 13 years, who are studying ac- cording to the 2nd option of the adaptive curriculum for children with mental retardation (intellectual disabilities). To trace the development of sensory processes we have carried out input and final diagnostics using the tasks by N. I. Ozeretsky and M. O. Gurevich. The results obtained were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U test. The results of diag- nostics and remedial work testify to the originality of the sensory development of chil- dren with moderate intellectual disability.
