Annotation:
The article deals with the issues of teaching the Russian language as foreign to elementary school children with disabilities. We have briefly described the existing methods of teaching Russian as foreign language and shared our experience of teaching children with various developmental disorders. The article determines the problems of adapting children with special needs to the educa- tional process. We have given the definition of the concept “international students with dis- abilities”, analyzed the peculiarities of learning Russian by international children with disa- bilities of different nosological groups. The article proposes effective methods and ap- proaches to teaching Russian for international students with special needs. We have consid- ered the ways for integration of the existing methods and techniques in the educational pro- cess of elementary school children. In general, it is noted that special psychological and educational conditions in the classroom, working out of adapted textbooks and methods is of a great importance for the successful acquisition of the Russian language by international students with disabilities.
