The authors aim to provide insights into the unique approach to patriotic educa- tion applier in the Baikal College of Subsoil Use. They delve into the contemporary inter- pretations of patriotism, its defining characteristics, and its various forms of expression. The article offers a comprehensive understanding of the concepts of «patriotism» and «patriotic education» in the current context and suggests ways to enhance student partici- pation in the learning process, including extracurricular activities. Furthermore, the au- thors share their experiences of organizing events that promote patriotic values among students. The Baikal College of Subsoil Use boasts of its emphasis on patriotic education, evident in initiatives such as the «Patriot» program, the «Kornet» hobby group, and the in- ternational friendship club.
