The article raises the issue of the development of multicultural competence and a culture of interethnic communication among future educational psychologists, which is relevant both from a theoretical and practical point of view. It is argued that the psycho- logical content of multicultural competence is a culture of interethnic communication — a personal professionally significant characteristic of future educational psychologists, which is amenable to development during training and upbringing. The targeted impact on all components of the psychological structure of the culture of inter-ethnic communi- cation (gnoseological, axiological and praxiological) makes it possible to significantly increase its level in the process of training students. Attention is focused on the psycho- logical and pedagogical conditions for the development of a culture of interethnic com- munication, a psychological and pedagogical model for the development of a culture of interethnic communication of future educational psychologists in the process of studying at the university is presented.
Ethnocultural gambling, included in the structure of practical classes in the disciplines "Ethnopsychology," "Culture and intercultural interaction in the modern world," "Multi- cultural education" among students in the training area "Psychological and pedagogical education" (profile "Psychology of education"), is considered as one of the effective means of developing a culture of interethnic communication and multicultural compe- tence.
