Currently, in Russia there is a steady research and applied interest in mentor- ing — a technology of experience transfer, building competencies based on trust and partnership. The article shows the potential of reverse mentoring in the field of education based on publications and analysis of the experience of implementing this model in the Buryat Republican Pedagogical College in the framework of the local project "Devel- opment of Electronic Courses: Collaboration Experience". Reverse mentoring is an effective means of building relationships between generations, transferring corporate knowledge, developing teamwork, establishing horizontal links between young and experienced employees; solving the problem of insufficient compe- tence of older employees in the field of information technology; implementation of pro- fessional solutions based on the latest technologies. We have analyzed the publications, which prove that reverse mentoring contributes to mutually beneficial cooperation be- tween young and experienced teachers, implementation of a professional development program, designing of an individual educational and career trajectory for students; strengthening relationships between teachers and students during teaching practice. It is argued that reverse mentoring solves the problem of the continuity of pedagogical expe- rience and intergenerational interaction.
